Traces of Europe

Spring 2024 will see Belgium hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with celebrations to mark the event held in Mechelen on a grand scale. Why Mechelen? The city on the Dyle symbolises the European values of connectivity, diversity and progress, which are not coincidentally the mainstays of Construct Europe.

The 'Traces of Europe’ free city walk introduces you to European projects, tells you the story about the Great Council and which notable figures once set foot in Mechelen.
