Accessibility of the Aldermen's building

Our information office was awarded the Accessibility Label of Tourism Flanders.

The tourist information office Visit Mechelen is housed in the historic Schepenhuis.
The Schepenhuis has its historic entrance at the Schoenmarkt with an outside staircase. The tourist information office is accessible by wheelchair via Vleeshouwersstraat.
From this entrance, the reception area and the visitor area on the first floor can be reached by stairs and a vertical platform lift.

The reception and visitor area are spacious and well laid out. There is a sanitary block with a spacious adapted toilet in the basement. This is accessible by stairs and lift.

The desk and experience elements are adapted for wheelchairs. The text of the Burgundian application was read in for the blind and visually impaired. Consideration was also given to contrasts and fonts.
