C0n10ur 2023
From September 9 to November 5, 2023, the tenth edition of the Contour Biennial of Moving Images will take place. Open your eyes and ears and immerse yourself in various forms and formats of moving image, exclusive film premieres and live events tailored to the program.
C0N10UR brings together work by artists residing in Belgium and aims to show their work in the most ideal circumstances. The first film produced by nona - titled yours, - is immediately a tribute by six artists to legendary Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman. In addition, C0N10UR offers a generous combination of engaged documentaries and film essays, audiovisual installations and sound works centered around voice and music.
Only four venues are deliberately chosen, in order to showcase the works with care. Besides nona, these are the unique historical setting of Museum Hof van Busleyden, Cinema Lumière Mechelen, which is perfectly equipped to bring Contour visitors and regular moviegoers together, and De Garage, Mechelen's space for contemporary art. This edition, the first to be curated by artists (the five members of production and distribution platform Auguste Orts), unites generations and styles and thus provides an excellent picture of the quality and diversity within the contemporary Artists' Moving Image.
In addition to the four locations in Mechelen, there are also two outside the city: argos center for audiovisual arts (Brussels) and Kunsthal Extra City (Antwerp).
